Why Lippincott is your best choice

In this day and age, just about anyone can put together a Web site that looks suspiciously like ours and makes a business appear to be something it’s not. But what almost none of these "copycat" competitors has are Lippincott’s nearly twenty years of industry and service experience, "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau, and thorough customer understanding that comes with paying out millions of dollars to hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers, many of whom return to Lippincott services again and again.

Copycat Web sites are designed to look impressive and say all the right things. The true picture of a company, though, is what’s behind its Web site. For a far more accurate picture of a company, ask yourself the following questions:

Is the company just a pawn shop in disguise?

For how long has the company been buying gold, diamonds, fine jewelry, pre-owned watches, or platinum for cash?

Does the company belong to any associations?

Does the company have an adequate staff of skilled professionals?

Does the company supply free, secure, and insured shipping materials?

Does the company maintain a package tracking system?

Is the company’s privacy policy monitored by a third-party company?

1. Is the company just a pawn shop in disguise? While many of our competitors are simply pawn shops made to look a whole lot “nicer” on the Web, Lippincott services are most definitely not pawn shops. Pawn shop customer service, if any, for example, is often cold and impersonal. With Lippincott services, there’s never any need to sacrifice your comfort or financial security. We provide warm, friendly service from experienced professionals you can trust. We will never request financial information from you. And safeguards are in place to ensure that any information you give us is extremely secure.

2. For how long has the company been buying gold, diamonds, fine jewelry, pre-owned watches, or platinum for cash? A key factor in determining whether you should do business with a company is how long the company has been buying gold, diamonds, fine jewelry, pre-owned watches, or platinum for cash. Companies offering such services for less than a year often lack the experience to understand how to run the business efficiently and best serve its customers. We at Lippincott have nearly 20 years of gold-, diamond-, jewelry-, pre-owned watch-, and platinum-buying services under our belt; our decades of experience have helped us to set up a system of checks and balances that will best serve our clients’ interests by providing the fast, free, and friendly service our many thousands of satisfied customers seek.

3. Does the company belong to any associations? We have an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau. This means, among other things, that we have a satisfactory complaint-handling record with the bureau; we work hard to ensure our customers’ satisfaction by honoring what we promise, answering questions, and resolving customer complaints in a quick and responsive way; we advertise truthfully; and we do not say unreliable or misleading things on our Web site.

4. Does the company have an adequate staff of skilled professionals? No matter how fancy its Web site is, a company is only as good as its worst employee. Companies with few trained or many unskilled staff members are far less likely to have the resources, know-how, or motivation to meet their customers’ needs. We, on the other hand, maintain a staff of professionals, each with demonstrated customer service and gold, diamond, fine jewelry, watch, or platinum expertise—a number of whom are bilingual—to provide all Lippincott customers with the fast, free, and friendly service we feel every customer deserves. We’ve also extended the hours of our toll-free customer service line at 1-800-538-8188 so you’ll have even more opportunities to speak to a real person and ask away without worrying about your phone bill!

5. Does the company supply free, secure, and insured shipping materials? Several of our competitors have created mailing packages that look like the GoldKit, Safe-Pak, or Platinum-Pak, but fail to provide the more costly safeguards like our state-of-the-art materials, reliable tracking systems, and insurance. Would you be comfortable sending your valuables to someone you didn’t know with nothing more than a shipping label and no mention of package safety, tracking, or insurance? We didn’t think so. That’s why we developed specially-designed mailing kits for sending your gold, diamonds, fine jewelry, pre-owned watches, and platinum safely and securely through the US Mail. From bar-coded tracking forms to materials safety bags to specially-designed shipping boxes, we provide all our customers with free, superior, self-insured packaging materials for the safe and secure transport of their valuables to us. But beware of imposters!

6. Does the company maintain a package tracking system? Some of our competitors may claim to have a system in place for supervising your valuables once the company receives them. But is this “system” ever fully explained? Does the company employ state-of-the-art package tracking tools? At Lippincott, our seamless package tracking technology with automated bar code entry and, in the case of ThingsWeBuy and RecyclePlatinum, streaming video check-in ensures that the contents of every GoldKit, Safe-Pak, and Platinum-Pak we receive are checked in, recorded, and tracked throughout the assessment process. As a result, the valuables in our custody are entirely trackable and exceptionally secure.

7. Is the company’s privacy policy monitored by a third-party company? These days, companies need to do more than simply publish a privacy policy on their Web site. If you look at any established company today, its privacy policy is reviewed and monitored by another company, such as TRUSTe. We are proud to be a certified licensee of the TRUSTe® Privacy Seal Program, meaning that the privacy statement and practices of Lippincott have been reviewed by TRUSTe and found to be in compliance with government and industry guidelines concerning the use of customers’ personal information.
