As Vice President of ThingsWeBuy.com and Recycle Platinum, Dan Buerk is responsible for overseeing all of the appraisals and appraisers of fine jewelry, fine watches, diamonds and platinum materials. He handles every aspect of distribution in each of the Lippincott brands, from purchasing, to refining precious metals, to communicating with the thousands of customers each year.

As a licensed appraiser and member of the National Watch and Clock Association, Dan shares his passion for fine jewelry with the entire Lippincott staff. He has developed seminars and newsletters which include hands-on experience on topics, such as collectible time pieces, antique jewelry, and contemporary designer jewelry.

In addition, hundreds of customers each week receive private phone tutorials from Dan on their particular piece of jewelry. He enjoys being able to share his knowledge on the history and origin of their jewelry and timepieces.

Prior to joining Lippincott, Dan owned his own company where he bought and sold fine estate jewelry. He also has worked on Philadelphia’s Diamond District, Jeweler’s Row, as a designer and manufacturer of Fine Custom Jewelry and Corporate Award Jewelry for private sector and non profit organizations. He has designed for brands such as Dominos, Midas, the FBI, CIA, NSA, and the Susan B. Koman Foundation, as well as hundreds of private clients.

With an extensive background in Fine Art, Decorative Smalls and Jewelry, Dan began his career as an apprentice for a high end antique and fine art dealer and soon started his own business after he began collecting and selling antique jewelry and decorative smalls. Dan has spent the greater part of his career involved in antiques and collectibles with a majority of the focus being on jewelry and watches. He is considered an expert in multiple fields, including late Victorian, Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts Period, and Art Deco Jewelry, as well as watches and pocket watches of all kinds.

In his free time, Dan enjoys being a musician and disc jockey in the Philadelphia nightlife.
