John P. Sullivan

Chief Financial Officer

John P Sullivan brings extensive financial expertise to his role as Chief Financial Officer at Lippincott LLC. For over ten years as a professional in both public accounting and private industry, John has mastered a specialized knowledge of key areas in finance including financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principals (GAAP), internal controls, budgeting/forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic business & tax planning.

Prior to joining Lippincott, John was a senior manager with a South Jersey public accounting and consulting firm where he served as director of its audit practice as well as technical compliance manager of the firm’s AICPA mandated peer review program. As a Certified Valuation Analyst, Sullivan has broad financial experience in the consulting disciplines of business valuation, due diligence for mergers & acquisitions, litigation support, forensic accounting, and intangible asset appraisal.

John has served as a key advisor to a large client base including numerous entrepreneurial startups in diversified industries to establish accounting systems and implement internal control and policy. His experience has played a critical role to bring order and structure to disorganized and non-existent accounting departments as well as training and developing accounting staff to perform above their basic functions. Always an advocate of technology, John has championed general ledger software conversions to merge IT processes with Finance functions to improve and streamline financial reporting.

John began his career at Ernst & Young (a ‘Big 4’ audit firm) where he gained invaluable experience in external audit and internal control processes while working in the entrepreneurial services (ES) division of the Assurance and Advisory Business Services (AABS) department of the Philadelphia office. Mr. Sullivan has also worked as a financial analyst at Campbell Soup Company (a Fortune 500 company).

John is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credentialed by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), as well as the New Jersey (NJSCPA) and Pennsylvania (PICPA) state societies, whereby he has contributed articles to the practice management section of the PICPA. John graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top six percent of his class from Villanova University, whose undergraduate business program was ranked #13 in the nation according to BusinessWeek. He is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the International Business Honor Society.
